IS-Instruments was established in 2010 by Dr. Michael Foster and Dr. Jonathan Storey to specialise in the development of compact remote sensing instrumentation targeting industrial applications.
Both directors have over 10 years experience working with LIDAR and 3D vision systems for space-borne applications and are internationally respected as world-leading experts in this community. Through ISI the directors are commercialising the technologies and expertise they have developed into ground based applications.
IS-Instruments design and develop instrumentation for major commercial corporations based on their core technologies. They have engaged in many successful projects with great collaborators including; Jacobs, Fraunhofer, UKAEA, CPI, GTS and i3D Robotics to name a few. IS-Instruments is also working with commercial customers:
- To identify and measure gaseous samples using Raman spectroscopy with The ORC.
- To provide a chemical composition of unknown samples from a distance using their stand-off Raman probe.
- To analyse substances present in pipework on nuclear fusion sites.
IS-Instruments pride their company and services on giving their customers the best solution to their problem, which may include an off the shelf system or a one-off bespoke design, whichever best suits their customer's needs.
IS-Instruments' expertise is focused on:
- Design and development of laser based remote sensing systems.
- Compact Raman spectrometers and LIDARs.
- Spectroscopic measurement from 200 - 2500 nm.
- Photon counting detection techniques.
